plug in for boat and camper

I plug in my camper to the 7 pin on my 2008 f 350 then went to plug in the boat to the 4 pin. The plug in box won't let you do this. What is everybody doing to get around this? Is there an adapter for this or will I have to cut into the wires? Ford dealers were at a lost on this one

Are you pulling a tandem- camper then boat? Or separately pulling each toy?
I recently added a hitch and wiring harness to the back of my camper to pull a tandem. The camper is a 7 pin, and my motorcycle trailer is a 4 pin. What I found out was the wiring harness on the camper lights do not match the standard white/brown/green/yellow color codes that match the 4 pin. After re-wiring several times, I had to buy a voltmeter and find the correct wires to match the 4 pin. All in all, I can legally pull a tandem.
And BTW- check your states DOT rules for maximum length on tandems- in my state it's 65 feet nose to tail.

If your towing toys seperatly, there is a 7 to 4 pin adapter, about $20.

Cope111, rv dealers have a 5th wheel cable that plugs into the rear of your existing 7 way trailer outlet, look at the front side of that socket, you will find the harness will unplug, and this is where the additional cable plugs in, this will allow you to have an extra 7 way socket, even if you dont install it in the side of the box as we do pulling 5th wheels. I can send pix if you need them. Hope this helps.

I have a 7 way plug located on the left front side of my bed. This harness is spliced into the 4/7 way plug at the bumper. I use my 4 pin plug to pull my boat with though.
