Rearview mirror removal?

Does anyone know the trick to removing the rearview mirror... the instructions for my new Gentex/Ford mirror simply state, "using screwdriver from the top, remove mirror".... I've played with it and played with it.... and I can't get it to come loose.... there has to be a trick to it. I don't want to shoot a windshield trying to get a stupid mirror installed.

Thanks in advance.

You need a small flat head and insert it from the bottom and push it in about 1-2 inches then very carefully twist the screwdriver a 1/2 turn(just like you would turn a screw) until the mirror is able to be moved up and off of the metal plate. Good luck.

ok.... so I figured it out.... this mirror doesn't have the traditional release mechanism.... you put the screw driver in from the top and pry the mirror out toward you.... it has spring loaded clips on its side that hold it on....

Yep, that clip is a mother of a holder, isnt it?
