Securilock questions

I parked my truck in the driveway tonight to load it for work tomorrow and when I went to pull it into the garage it won't start. The indicator light on the dash for the Securilock is flashing. I grabbed my other set of keys after reading the owners manual as to what the light is and it still won't start. The truck isn't recognizing the keys. What to do?

Sounds like the PATS (SecuriLock) module either went bad or lost its programming. More than likely you are going to need to get the truck towed to the dealer for repairs...

Well the truck made the rollback ride to the dealership this morning.

Initial diagnosis was that their computer couldn't read mine! The tech was on the phone with Ford the last time I spoke with him. Hmm doesn't sound good.

Ford is fixing this one also, to the tune of a new PCM. The Ford Hotline and the Senior Master Tech at the dealership confirmed that the PCM is dead. A job 3 PCM was used to confirm this. So with a little luck I'll see a new PCM Monday/Tuesday. No one can tell why the PCM died as it won't show anything when they plug into it.

Well, they can't blame it on Microsoft, SYNC wasn't available on our trucks. Wonder what OS is used on our trucks?

LOL, the truck didn't like something!

Those of you old enough, remember points and condensors (gas)? Sure was simple than.

I'm old enough to remember how much maintenance they took............

Good thing it's still under warranty, I'll bet that isn't a $2 part.

I'm with you on preferring older, simpler vehicles... but PATS system failures (and complete PCM failures) are relatively rare, while thefts of Superduties are not. I bet for every "my PATS system failed" post on here you could find several hundred "I parked my truck in AZ/TX/NM and came back and it was gone" posts! I would definitely add that option if given the choice.

So they get your truck fixed yet? or are they still replacing the PCM? Do they still not know what caused the problem or has that mystery been resolved?

Yeah, but it's under warranty, so he doesn't have to pay for it. Unless I misread something.
