Just curious. I have CCCC spring codes (CC front and CC rear) and my truck is equipped with the camper and snow plow package. 6000# front and 6100# rear axle and is a V10.
My father in law's 2008 (diesel) is listed as CCLL. His rear pack has one more leaf than mine, but my truck sits 1.5" taller in front (V10 vs. diesel I suppose) but the rear of mine is also 1 to 1.5" taller than his....even with one less leaf.
I would like to know what the CC vs. LL difference is in weight. Both rigs are F250 crewcab longbeds.
Thanks,
Jerry

Spring code weight ratings for 2009 and later seem to be secret. I tried to get them for a week without success. There's nothing on the internet. The parts guys at two dealerships said they can order replacements, but can't see the ratings because DOT doesn't want guys like me modifying our suspensions and exceeding the GVWR. The owner of a 50-year old spring shop said the same thing.
I called Ford with my VIN and was told that my spring rate is 247 pounds per inch. That makes some sense. At max cargo capacity the back would squat 4.7 inches. It's 4.0 inches to the bump stop.
I'd still like to see the weight ratings by spring code if anyone can find it.

Springs codes are listed (on the VC label) as a 2-part code. The first character listed is for the front springs. The second code listed is for the rear springs. Auxiliary rear springs may also be listed.

I just ordered out a pair of rear Timbren springs. At 3,000 pounds per side they essentially convert my F-250 to a stealth F-350, but with somewhat less suspension travel.
I saw this done at a local Ford dealer. They sent a brand new F-250 out to a 4WD shop. When it came back, a pair of Timbrens had replaced the bump stops. Also the auxiliary or overload leaf springs (found standard on F-350s and with the camper package on F-250s) had been removed from their brackets and added to the main spring packs.
That was when I quit worrying about matching spring rates and just went with the Timbrens.

I don't enjoy being the bearer of bad news. You've convinced yourself, but you haven't convinced me. Assuming they both have overload rear springs, the big difference between a 2009 F-250 and a 2009 F-350 SRW is the rear axle/differential. Overload rear springs are std on the F-350 SRW and come with the camper pkg on the F-250. Your rear axle is rated 6,200 pounds @ground. The F-350 SRW rear axle is rated 7,280 pounds @ground.
Per the Timbren website:
"Q. Can I haul more weight on my truck if I install Timbren's SES kit?
A. You cannot exceed the manufacturer's axle rating or GVW rating of the vehicle. A Timbren suspension enhancement system will greatly enhance the performance of a heavily-loaded vehicle. You can expect the vehicle to have reduced sag and improved roll stability."
So no, you don't have a stealth F-350 SRW. You have a nice-riding F-250.

Well, you're absolutely right Smokey Wren. Thanks for pointing it out. I just looked it up and the F-350 axle is rated for an extra 950 pounds -- something I missed when I was comparing models.
