Did you have to order the 6 disc to get it? If not, would an aftermarket sirius controller plug in, and be controlled by the deck?

A dealer should be able to tell you. When I was looking all I saw were the 6 discs with Sirius but that doesn't mean you can't have it with a single disc. I replaced my 6 disc (still have it if you need it) with an Alpine DVD and pulled out the stock Sirius box (located underneath the steering column) and replaced it with the aftermarket one for my Alpine. The aftermarket one plugs into my new deck where the stock box had wiring that was integrated into the factory harness I believe.

that pretty much answers the question. if it is integrated into the factory harness i'll have to go aftermarket. thanks. pm me a cost on that 6 disc though

I called sirius and asked about starting service on my built from factory satellite radio. I told them I already had XM and wanted to know if I could add Sirius as an additional radio. They said it would be new service and that the merger was not official yet.

Ford sells an add-on kit that includes a harness for your radio. Like $300 for the kit.
