I have the integrated TBC on my F-250. When I have the trailer connected, everything works as advertised with the system (gain setting, braking, etc). I noticed that when the trailer is connected, the message center adds another message indicating the status of the TBC. However, that message always shows "GAIN = 0.0" and "Output = " no matter where I have my gain set and no matter what the output currently is.
What is the purpose of this mode on the message center if it never changes, or am I reading it incorrectly? There is nothing wrong with the trailer wiring, by the way. I had it double checked.

are you reading it with the brakes applied?
I've never even noticed mine.

One of the "improvements" on the '09 is the TBC info is in the message center. I have a Job 3 and just assumed the latest software had it there, just not used. My reads 0's also.

Yes, I've tried applying the brakes to see if the message updates. The output on the TBC itself changes, of course, but the message never shows anything but zeroes.

I believe, that no matter what you have your gain set to, if your foot is not on the brake, your gain is in fact zero. Your gain doesn't even apply until you step on the brake, and the gain actually increases as you apply the brakes, the harder you press..........The bar graph moves when I step on the brake, but the gain number doesn't show up unless I hit the + or - for the gain control.
I didn’t see the brake numbers change on my TDC also.
I’m new to this, I thought that the bar graph was proportional to the movement of the brake pedal and the gain setting was the amount of voltage sent to the electric brakes on the trailer for a certain movement of the brake pedal, for example, the more gain you have, the less you have to press the brake pedal to have more voltage to the trailer brakes (more voltage = more trailer brakes). So that is why they have to have some way to adjust to sync the truck brakes with the trailer brakes, hence the adjustable gain control, or you would have the trailer dragging or pushing when you pressed the brake pedal in the truck I guess I better confirm this.
