They call those seats?????

I'd like to know what 5' ample butted designer came up with the fiberboard, child sized seats that were in the 2008 F450 Lariat, that my wife & I test drove this last Friday.

I'm not big by any means, about 6'-ish and around 210lbs, so not real tall or too heavy (depending on who you ask), but really.

Talk about a great big disappointment this 08 had for seats, compared to our 2000 F350 Lariat. It was so bad, that we didn't even entertain the thought of buying it.

The only difference between those front seats & ours is that we have a 40/20/40 bench and this one had Captain's chairs. The seat area was about 3 inches shorter compared to ours which comes to the back of our knee area.

Not having sat in an 08 with the 40/20/40, are they deeper than the captain chair style?

Dale

You should probably try one with the 40-20-40, I am 6'3" and 280 and find the seats very comfortable. My two cents

I'm with you. I traded a 2000 year model with the 40/20/40 seats that i just loved. I just don't think these new seats are near as comfortable.

Hmmmm, I got the Captain's Chairs and I love them. I'm 6'1" 200 and couldn't be any more comfortable...with the heated seats on, it's even better! But, everyone's different.

I'm 6'3" and love the captains chairs, however, I did come straight out of a chevy 2500HD with the 40/20/40 bench and I do miss the fold up center portion.
I have noticed my knees get a little close to the dash when I make the distance to the steering wheel comfortably closer for a long trip.

When I bought my truck, the dealer had this truck and another one exactly like it in every way (same color, same options, etc.) except it had the captains chairs. I'm 6'3" and 255 (more or less ) and I decided that the 40/20/40 was more comfortable for me. Personally, I can't really tell too much difference between the seats on my 2000 F250, my 2005 F350 and the current truck. They have all been comfortable for me.

In the Lariat the seats are exactly the same for either captains chairs or the 40/20/40. Only difference is the center section is either a fold up seat or center console.

I think it is just a matter of opinion when it comes to these concerns. I like the seats in my new truck, but I have heard from others that they do not feel comfortable in them. I find them much nicer than those in my 03 with cloth seats.
