Trailer plug

I recently purchased the Plasmaglow Fire and Ice LED tailgate bar and installed it today but ran into a slight problem. When I plug into the factory 4-pin hitch plug, I get running/tail lights but the turn signals and brake lights do not work on the lightbar (fine on the truck). I put the tester on the plug and confirmed that I am not getting juice when the turn signals/brakes are on - juice to the running lamps is fine. I then did the same thing with the 7-pin plug next to the 4-pin and got the same result. I do not own a trailer but had one plugged into the 7-pin plug about a week ago and all of the lights worked fine - I have not used the 4-pin with a trailer yet. I called Plasmaglow and was told that the constant wire to the 7-pin may have something to do with this but I am still confused. Based on what I have determined so far, the lights on a trailer would not light up if the 4-pin plug were used, which does not make sense - the truck is less than a month old. At this point, I have accepted the fact that I have got to be overthinking this! Any thoughts?

sounds like you are missing a relay in the junction box or the fuse box under the hood. It would help if you put your signature there with what the truck is.

Have you drive in a lot of rain lately? The backside of the plug gets water in it. There is a service bulletin out about this. However, most of the time the truck will tell you if something is wrong with the trailer wiring. This is a easy fix you can do yourself with taking the truck to the dealership, by the time you drive down there you could have had it fixed.

Try looking at these photos maybe they will help.
