will 35s fit?

Hello all I have a 2008 f250 4x4 Lariat with 275/70/r18's and i would like to put 35/12.5s on it. Will they fit w/o rubbing? How bad will it throw off the speedo? Has anyone done this on here yet and if so what brand tire rim combo? lemme know please!!

I think we all have 33's on our '08s from the factory. My buddy's '04 is pretty close to the same and he says that 35s will not fit at all. Whatever the case, I don't think you're going to be able to fit 35's without a lift of at least two inches.

In regards to finding out what the difference in speedometer is, here's the formula you need:

(new tire dia / stock tire dia) * speedo reading = new speed

Example:

( 35 inches / 33 inches ) * 65 mph = 68.94 mph

You can get your stealership to recalibrate your speedometer for anything up to (but not beyond) 35 inch tires so that you won't have the do the calculation all the time.

I had asked a similar question on a different forum and the general consensus was certain 35's would fit. Timid1's buddy had an '04 which had leaf spring up front. The '05 and up trucks have the coil spring's which allow for a bigger tire. Of course my scenario was using stock rims and a 285/75R18 tire (Toyo MT). This tire has a 35'' outside diameter and is 11.6'' wide.

There are plenty of guys running 35's on stock non-lifted 08's. The 08's have a ton more room then the 04's (which I have 35's on with no lift) and even more room then the '05 - 07's...

Check out z71burb's gallery.. He has pics of 35X12.50R20 on his '08 with and with out a leveling kit.

need pics of bigger tires on 08 20" rims

you wont have a problem other than some really slight rubbing on the drivers side radius arm, with no lift. as far as your speedo is concerned, you shouldnt have any issues with that. considering that ford offers a tire from the factory that is over 34" tall (275/65-20) there are some tolerances in the factory programming to allow the different range in tire sizes. ive noticed that with mine, its just as accurate with the 35s versus the stock 20" tires, according to gps and radar.

if you do have rubbing I would go with the ready lift system, you can pick it up for 250.. or there better system is only 500. it raises your truck to 2.5 , and on factory rims you can go up to 37 if you want. looks nice. I going with this kit it keeps everything factory ride. and is built factory stiyle.

Could somebody help me to understand truck tire size's? I have 275/65/20 which I know stands for 275 high, 65 wide and 20 inch rims. What's the 35 stand for? How do they calculate bigger tires? Thanks!

35's mean 35" tires. instead of a 315/70/16 you get a 35/12.5/16
one is metric, one is SAE, that is the only difference
