09 F250's with 6in lift and 37's

I have a 09 F250 and sooner or later I am going to lift it. I am thinking of doing a 4.5in lift with 35's, but would like to put a 6 inch lift with 22 inch wheels and 37 inch tires. I dont want to lose and power due to larger tires. My question is to the ones with a 6 inch lift and 37 inch tires did you really notice a big difference in a loss of power when you put the 37 inch tires on? I dont want to change the gears.

I had an 08 F250 with a 6" and 37's and I didn't notice any loss. The heaviest I pulled was about 8k though.

You will have a very noticeable drop in mileage though. Not that these trucks ever had great mileage.

I currently have an '08 F350 with an 8" lift and 37" tires. I tuned it when I put the lift on, didn't notice a drop in power because of the tune. I did, however, notice a drastic drop in mileage. before the lift I was getting 15-16mpg combined, now I"m getting 10.

I've been told to swap the 3.73 gear for a 4.10 gear and that would improve the MPG lose as well as help with the acceleration.

I don't think you notice any power loss, i have a 6 inch lift with 35 inch tires on my 2010 and i have the 3.55 limited slip and i tow 20,000 pounds of bales no problem on my 35 foot goose neck trailer. Mind you i usually tow them off the fields and mabye down the road 20 miles or so the farm, but she seems to grunt away with no problems.

My friend has an 08' with 4.5" of lift and 37's and he says the stock gears in it turn them over fine. the truck is completely stock otherwise though.

JAYS2003

My truck also has the 3:73's, how's the acceleration with the 37's? What size wheels do you have also? That sounds about what I want to do to my truck. One last thing, do the tires rub the fender well's at all?

Thanks

Won't rub with the correct offset and lift kit.
It will be slower, use more fuel and lessen towing ability. Gear change is always best.

I've chipped mine using a hypertech... Its getting 10MPG either way (chipped or not) but the acceleration from the tuning is fenominal (Spelling?). If I don't tune it, or turn the tune back to stock, the acceleration isn't that great, but what do you expect from an 8500lb truck.

My tires only rub when backing up, and turning hard left... That is only an issue with the fenderwell plastics...

Search and ye shall find...

I just put a 2" lift, Addict XP rims, and 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers on my '08 350 4wd King Ranch. I was stunned at how drastic the MPG drop was!! I went from a solid 16.1 in mixed driving to 13.4 (so far...). 35" tires are nearly the same size as the stock, but run at 65PSI vice 75 PSI. I like the look of the truck, but the MPG drop is a shocker!
