2008 tailgate conversion

Does anyone know where I can see a exploded view of a 08 tailgate. I am trying to put one on my 02 and there seems to be some parts missing. On the passenger side at the bottom is two bolts that thread into the bottom of the tailgate. I need to know what these are for. It appears that something internaly has been removed. The torsion rod that runs from drivers side hinge to passenger side is loose and can be pulled out of tailgate. I just need to know whats missing so I can order parts. Any help or part numbers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: 2008 tailgate conversion

I'm curious too. I was thinking the 2008 tailgate would just go right on my 2000.

is this true, or are some mods that need to be done ?

The brackets must be different. I purchased a 5th wheel tailgate last year for my 2005 F250 that was made by Handy Industries. I called them last week and asked if it would fit an 2008. They said yes but I needed new brackets and inserts. Although I have not tried them yet, there are two metal brackets, and two plastic cups in the package. $23.00.
