2008 towing mirrors

Does anybody know if the mirrors used on the new 2008 trucks would fit on the 99-2007 models?

Re: 2008 towing mirrors

Did you have the 02 mirrors before or just the paddle style also what does our connection look like on the 02, I have opened it up yet, been at work a lot, not time to look. I'm thinking of just upgrading to the 02 tow mirrors but don't know what the connection is (round or flat)? Thanks

Re: 2008 towing mirrors

I just installed a set of the 08 towing mirrors on my 05. I had the towing mirror, but wanted the bigger convex mirror on the 08s. I did not get the power fold or extend. The 08 mirrors use a square type connector, but it is a high-density design. I clipped the connectors of my original mirrors and soldered them to the new ones. The wiring color codes were the same, but I have one problem.

1. Heated mirror ok
2. Turn signals ok
3. Up/Down ok
4. In/Out backwards

I am going to check the pin out on a 08 switch to see if that will fix it.

Re: 2008 towing mirrors

i put a set of 08's(non-power fold) on my buddies Y2K..all he had was the 3 pin round connector in the door..i too clipped all the connectors and soldered..had to add wires for markers, signal, and heat..

the mirror right/left controls are backwards, the motor location has been changed in the mirror on the 08 style...there is an aftermarket fix in the works which will add relays in the doors to correct this..

to the Op:, yep ,they fit perfectly..

The solution is to disassemble the mirrors so you can access the wires right near the in /out motor. Clip them both off and reverse/ reconnect. I've done 3 sets of these mirrors this way, no relays required.
I played with the wires at the switch, it is not possible to change it there due to how the mirrors are wired, from what I could tell...
