2009 F250 Crew Cab 4WD

I bought a 2009 F250 Crew Cab 4WD back in July. I had previously owned a 2008 F350. I tow a 27 foot gooseneck flatbed trailer. My F350 did not sag in the rear end when loaded with the trailer. My F250 seems to drop right down when i am hooked up with a loaded trailer. What can i do to make the rear end on the 250 the same as what i had on the 350?

You'll probably have to change out the rear springs to match that of the 350. The 350 had a heavier set of springs on the truck then the 250.

add air bags or add a leaf, personally I would look at the add-a-leaf. Easier to maintain.

You will need to replace the u-bolts. u-bolts should only be used once.

Personal opinion, I would go with the air bags myself. They will give you the support you need when loaded. At the same time, you can maintain your 250 suspension which will make the unloaded ride much smoother.

Firestone air bags. With one caveat. Don't expect any shop, no matter the price, to do a leak-proof installation. While I'm sure it can be done regularly I have not experienced that and have had to re-do two installs with new air lines and fittings. On one I had to relocate the Schrader valves because they put one right in line with the spare tire crank hole.

Just be ready to re-do it right yourself or have a buddy who knows how. If they're installed carefully and approached as if they're going on an aircraft rather than on a pickup truck they will give good long reliable service. If the air lines are routed around any which way for expediency of installation they are guaranteed to give problems.

I thought the only difference between the 250 and 350 were the
blocks and the spines, but the leaf packs were the same. In any
event, I have been hauling fill dirt and gravel in the back of my
F250 over the last few months, and I have to say it was down
right embarrassing how bad the truck sagged with even a yard
or so of fill dirt back there. So, I put a 2" add-a-leaf in the rear
and I love it! It did stiffen up the rear a little bit, but I like it
the way it is now. It feels like a big truck should feel. And,
it doesn't rock back and forth like crazy now when I back out
of my driveway at an angle!

I had ordered air bags before I got the add-a-leafs, but the
order went on "back order", so I canceled and moved on
the add-a-leafs. I'm glad I did! No filling up bags, no leaks, and
no failures. I like the Firestone bags and may use them some
day. But the add-a-leafs are doing awesome on my truck. I just
need to stiffen up the front end now. It bounces even with
the camper package coil springs. I'm sure some Bilstein shocks
with help with that ...

p.s. By the way, no complaints from my wife regarding the ride
with the add-a-leafs, either. She says she thinks it's better
now, too.

I bought F350 rear leaf blocks from Readylift for my 08 F250, it now sits level when loaded and has a slight rake to it when unloaded which I like. Didnt do anything to increase capacity but got rid of the sagging rearend when loaded.

Has been that way for years. 350 blocks should get your height back. Airbags is the best way to do it if you can.

Check out TSB 07-7-2 which deals with rear ride height issues for 5th wheel towing. The TSB calls for replacing the 2" rear axle spacer with the 4" spacer.

I had them in my 350 and loved them. get the in cab dual controller. No muss no fuss. You drive down the road and adjust as neccessary. Counterbalance pneumatic check valve keeps the balloon effect from happening and all is perfect.

Don't timbrens work better as overload springs, rather than leveling a truck for towing?
