Anyone else have a super annoying wheel hop issue with their Toyos? I have 37x20inch Toyo MT's and I have already been to the shop once to get the hop fixed and its still happening! Let me know if anyone else has this problem!

I Have an 08 on 38"s Toyo MT's also on 20's... i have the hop... i took it in and they said since i had a add a leaf with a 5" block in the rear it will hop .. so i got some nice Atlas springs made and installed and the hop is 100% the same.
That must be what I've got going on too. Not too bad, but around 45mph, there is a definite bounce. I tried centramatic wheel balancers. They've been on for a little while. Seemed to help some, but they seem to need a second or two, in order to try to counter it. Also, it seems to only be one of the tires because once rotated, the tire (that must have been up front) was less obvious on the rear.
is it off the line wheel hop, or a vibration?
If its off the line, it has nothing to do with your tires, its the lift. Get some traction bars.
If its at speed, its something out of balance.

Its at speed and when I am coming to a stop. I am starting to think I made a bad descision buying top of the line tires. Cant they find out how to counter the hop while balancing the damn wheels?

I have 35" AT's on 18" wheels and haven't noticed any hop up to 70Mph. Could you describe when it happens and what the parameters are? Taking off, at speed, slowing down, flat road, bumpy road, when you hit a bump, etc.. When exactly do you notice it occurring?

if its at speed its a balance issue, but it may be the wheels, or the tires. i would take them elsewhere and have the balance checked.

i got the same thing at about 45-50 with my 38" 15.5 baya claws, the tires are slightly out of round on mine, the trick is to find out wich tire it is and move it to the PS back, then it will be least noticable to the driver. still sucks i paid over $400 per tire and they arent round.
I was told when i bought my wheels and tires from 4wd parts to stay away from the Toyo's for that same reason. I would return them and try another brand. I went with the Procomp tires and they work real well.

Well damn. I have already been back to 4wheelparts and they replaced the tire. Still has a wobble around 40-60 mph. Real annoying! I think I am just going to drop it off there and let them attack it.

I would put your stock wheels and tires back on and see if it feels the same?
If it don't you know its the wheels and tires if it does you know it has to do with your lift and might need traction bars or some carrie bearing adjustment or drive shaft changes depending on what truck size or some other issue but least you will know if it is for sure the tires and wheels this way and can go from there.
But its funny you allways read how Toyo Mts dont take much weight to balance.
I have 35's and have hoping just after taking off when itsd been sitting for a few days but it did it with my BFG's too...
