I put on a BDS 4" lift and was wondering what was the biggest tire i could run. BDS says max tire size of 35x12.5. I was wondering if anyone had a 4" lift with 37's and if so was there any modifications done.
I ran 35's on 03 with just the leveling kit. Just barley touched the springs. I have 35's on my 08 and nothing come close to touching and i have the 4" lift . I think my next size will be the 37's

We have built up a few '08s with Icon 4.5" systems on 37s. I typically do not recommend this as I believe there could be potential rubbing issues. Here are some examples:
BDS 4" on 35s
Icon 4.5" on 37s
Icon 4.5" on 37s

OVERKILL, do the coil-overs ride better on the street then with just springs? I wanted a Fabtech but I do not see where they make a 4" lift kit with coil-overs. I see Icon make's them but I hear Fabtech is better.

Sorry but whoever told you that the Fabtech coil-overs ride better must have been on crack. True story, A while back I had a customer who spent quite a bit of money on a Fabtech 4.0 coil-over system elsewhere bring it over to us because he was unhappy with the ride quality. After some discussion I handed him the keys to my truck on a standard Icon (DR) 7" radius arm system which cost less than half the price of his system. He almost cried after he drove it. My truck was leaps and bounds better in terms of both ride quality and performance. However, my current Icon 4-link coil-over system rides and performs even better yet.
The Icon systems are also made in the USA and are backed by a lifetime warranty. The same cannot be said for the Fabtech systems.

Ready lift's advertisment must be bull then . There adv in diesel power mag says you can run 37's on stock rims and 35's on aftermarket rims with just a leveling kit. I'd like to run 37-12.50-20 BFG AT's cause there actually only 36.6

I do not understand how Ready Lift can skirt around the liability of recommending a wheel/tire combination which they must surely know will have rubbing issues (not to mention that the recommended wheel width of most 37s exceeds that of the factory wheels). I can assure you that 37s on stock wheels will have considerable rubbing on the radius arms which will adversely affect turning radius.

obviously your a little biast towards the product you carry which is fine but to say that the Fabtech kit is garbage because you had a customer not like the ride is ignorant.... i have this kit use it hardcore every weekend and daily drive the truck and have yet to have any issues nor any ride issues .. i'm not saying there aren't better kits out there but this is a good kit and the quality has been great (so far)

They say it "lightly" rubs the inner fenders, but they can be pulled back with some metal strapping. They have a diagram on their webpage. I bet 37's will be a nitemare with just a leveling kit. I think I'm just gonna go for 325-60-20 BFG AT's on the factory 20inch wheels.

FYI, we sell Fabtech as well. However rather than making a proclamation based on a limited sampling or trucks, I instead base my opinion on first hand experience with the ride characteristics of hundreds of trucks and suspension systems. Unless you have driven both systems back to back you have no basis to question my assessment. Thousands of people are very happy with their Fabtech systems. Does that make the systems better than Icon? I think not.

So what your saying is .... if i go out and drive a truck with the Icon kit on it and i dont like it then i can get on-line and say that anyone who likes the icon better is "On Crack" ..
i really dont care which is better but what caught my eye was your attitude towards another product that couldn't seem to find on your site but i do see tons of ICON products on your site. More power to you i guess you guys have some really nice street trucks and your quality of work seems very high but it just erks me to see product bashing when it's clear your pushing a certain line.

I'm sorry but you are changing the context of my response.
Quote:
I see Icon make's them but I hear Fabtech is better.
My response was made to counter this ascertion. Never the less my opinion is not based on one or two lifted trucks I may have driven over the years. It is based on experience gained from driving several per day nearly every day over a period of years. Ride quality can be subjective but in this case the difference is quite apparent.
I do not list the Fabtech coil-over system on my site because I do not promote products I do not believe in. Check my photo gallery and you will see 8 pages of SDs, F150s, Silverados, and others with Fabtech systems installed. These were done either due to the lack of availability of superior systems or at the insistence of the customers.
I make no apologies for offering only the best products available. My philosophy is if the customer’s expectations are exceeded they will come back to me the next time they are in the market for an upgrade. Unfortunately there are not many people in our industry who are principled and instead will sell whatever just to make a buck.

overkill,
I did some research and have found what you say to be true. If I go with coil overs I will be buying the icons for sure. Thanks for your help!
