I just had a 6" Rize installed on my 08, F-250 cc swb kr. It looks great and drives like stock but when I accelerate from a dead stop I can feel a vibration/shimy and it stops fairly quickly once the truck starts to run...I dont know if they should have installed shims or a bracket to reduce the angle of the drive shaft. Anyone know what can be done to eliminate this? Did the shop install the lift correctly? Thanks for any insight.
the vibration on take off is axle wrap. If the vibes continued on, i would point to the carrier bearing or such. The only way to fix it is traction bars.

I've got an 8" Rize 4-link up front and OUO Traction-Blocks in the rear. It's a block with an incorporated traction bar. Also have a fully adjustable carrier drop.
Even with traction bars & carrier drop tried in many positions, I have that same shudder on take-off. My shudder is the same unloaded, or pulling 6k+. The load didn't matter. Got no worse with the trailer hooked up, even with all that weight. It is NOT axle wrap. It's the carrier wobbling. Crawl under your truck, grab the driveshaft, shake it, and you can immediately see how much play the rubber on the 08 allows, compared to previous years. My installers and I tried the carrier out of an 04. It changed the characteristics of the vibe, but it is still present. It basically stiffened it up, but introduced a new vibe from 20 to 23mph, roughly. The kind of vibe that makes your side mirrors vibrate when you look at them, like a subwoofer would, but very mild and subtle compared to the take off shudder which was still 90% present.
On a recent trip to Maine, (and VERY cold temps), the rubber in the carrier stiffened up quite a bit, and the take off shudder was about 50% less. As soon as I returned to warmer climates, it's right back to the level it had been before.
In a few weeks, I will be switching out the rear "traction blocks" for ones that will change the pinion angle a bit, to see if that helps. We are working on the issue and hopefully will have it solved soon.
Since you're at a 6" lift (front), the rear lift on yours would only need minimal carrier shimming at most. For mine with an 8" (front, rear lifted to level the truck out), the adjustable carrier drop may have been TOO much, (meaning, the minimum drop of 1.5" may have been to much, in this case).
Hope that sheds some light on the situation. It would be worth checking into a good set of traction bars for piece of mind. I wouldn't run a lift without them.

odd because when installed myfabtech bars, the vibration was gone....

Thanks for all of the input, I am going to check with the shop for the traction cars, any idea of cost on these and/or sugeestions of which ones to buy? Does it matter which brand? To have a brand new truck and feel that vibartion is annoying. Will update when and if I can resolve this...
I just got off the phone with the shop and they said the RIZE blocks are angled so no shim was necesary. they are pricing the traction bars now....I would have thought someone woould have suggested that given how obvious it is..
i paid 700ish for my fabtech's. i believe they have the best design. if someone tries to tell you they don't have them out for the 08's pm and i'll tell you how to order them

the ony difference i see is the rize is square tube, the fabtech are round. both are full floating, hiem joint setups.
The rize is almost almost 200 more than i paid for fabtech.

Someone please correct me if I'm off base....But even with the tapered blocks at the axle, might you still need to shim the center support bearing down (carrier)? I have seen this SAME issue on two other Fords first hand (a 95 and a 99) and both had SAME symptoms after having a lift installed. BOTH had tapered blocks to adjust pinion angle, still had a little wiggle from a stop. Installed Procomp shims at the center support bearing and the vibration is completely gone.
I apologize if I am off track here, just trying to make sure you exhaust all options before dropping ~$700 for tractions bars if they are not necessary.
i would be suprised if the lift kit he has didnt include a carrier bearing drop, but its easy as hell to check. just crawl under it. And yes, my vibration is gone.

I spoke to RIZE, the suggested the carrier drop bearing would solve the issue and i am going to add the traction bars from them as well because of the boat i tow (14k) it was strongly suggested to keep the axle from twisting under that extreme load. So it is all ordered as well as the AMP research steps so it will go back next week. I will post once it is done, both items combined should take care of it.....keeping my fingers crossed..
