I tried one black/purple wire as indicated above but it doesn't work.

I'm sure I'll get an answer this week but it is frustrating that there is no tech support on weekends when most people are probably trying to install these.

Contact Bruce @ Amp Steps he was a big help.

Sorry man I don't think I can be of much help as I had to wire in a 2007 style steps into my 2008. Although you can do a volt test and see if the there's a signal/power going through the wire when the door is open and closed. I believe it's the open door chime/sensor that activates the step to go down

Spoke to ray at AR. I'll check connections again but he swears the white/yellow wires are still right. He suggested checking the connectors at the control unit as sometimes the wires are not pushed in enough to make contact. I tried the connectors in the cab several times to make sure they weren't just missing the wires. He also suggested taking both wires from the control unit and grouding them to see if the steps went either up or down (ie showing control unit OK).

Has anyone put these on a 2009 crew cab? The wiring doesn't seem to match the 2008 models.

I went to wire my '09 and realized there was no dark green or dark green/purple.. However there was 2 light green and 3 light green/purple. I wired the yellow & white and tried guessing the combination for the others to no avail... the driver's side retracted and the passenger side keeps kicking in and out never fully retracting or deploying.
