Talking Anybody convert to HID's yet??

I tryed the search engine with no luck. Just looking to upgrade the headlights on a truck that hasn't even been build yet.

If you have, Can you post pics of how you mounted the balist and was it worth while. TIA

i have converted several trucks and have sold tons of HID kits... they are very easy to install and should only take an hour or less to hook up.... my kits come with a factory looking harness.... i can get HID kits for any light and any vehicle... Stealth Automotive. HID Kits

let me know if you have any questions about them

I saw your section in the supporting vendor area. And thats what prompted this post. I was just wanting to see if other owners have done this mod.

Do you have any pics or insight were to mount the balist in a secure area ?

TIA,

Robert

the ballast can be pretty much mounted in any direction.. i like to have them with the wires coming down from the bottom or flat on something.... since you got an 08 its gonna be tuff to find some space to mount it in since the engine takes up almost all the engine compartment.... i would try and mount them to the side next to the fenders.... i got a buddy that installed a set on his 08 so ill ask him where he did it and let you know...

HID lights

Someone must have them things around here! For the other week the person was behind me at about two miles and his lights were sooo bright that I couldn't see the road infront of me. Was in a hiway truck with hoe on. I have light sencetive eyes so maybe I can run over your wife or mother so please adjust them down for us that find them way too bright. Many years ago there was a barn across the valley when the sun hit it at the wrong angle it would make me sneeze! About 7% of the population has this.

Thanks Raul, If your buddy has any pics he could share that would be helpful. I'm glad to see the supporting vendors here are willing to go the extra mile for us. .

just thinking out-loud here Raul, say we send the light housing to you, could you install it all to make it a "plug and play" option for those who have no experience in this area?

cheers

its pretty much plug and play... the kit comes with an OEM style harness that connects to the OEM harness... from their you plug into the Ballast, and from the ballast to the bulbs.... their is also a black and red cable that goes to your batteries to power up the ballast.... it woudnt help at all to send me the housing because you will still nee to find a place to mount the ballasts, connect the bat. wires, and plut it into the OEM.. so all i would end up doing is install the bulbs, and the bulbs to the ballest....

the quick connect ends on the harness can only be connected one way so you cant mess it up... if you live anywhere with me i would be more than happy to stop by and help with the install.. all i charge is a few beers

"mounted the ballast behind the headlight on the plastic fender with 3M doublesided tape, but I also mounted it low, not only to get air flow to keep it cool, but also up against the lower support for fender with 3M double sided tape so it won't go anywhere"

hes gonna get me a pic of them tonight....

Bad aiming and bad glare from replacing a filliment light source with an arc light source.

I have done a HID conversion in my truck. It works perfectly. A very worthy upgrade. I went with a Bi-Xeneon H13 kit. I mounted the ballast on the radiator support under the headlight with doudle sided tape and mounted the ignitors on the back side of the sheet metal lip that the headlight snaps into. I used double sided tape on them also.
