Some jerk broke into my truck last night! They punched out the Driver side door lock. The plastic just broke and they were in. At least they did not mess up any metal on the outside. They did not try to steal the truck, they just took stuff from inside. When I called the dealer they said that they keep a good stock of door handles because this happens so much and is so easy to do. I want to replace them with a billet handle or something so that it will be harder to get in. What would you do or get? Also, I want to get an alarm system for the truck. What should I get?

As far as which Alarm to get, most if not all are made by DEI (Directed electronics Inc)so the only difference between them will be features,I have a Python with a remote start on mine,it also pages me through the transmitter if the alarm is going off (half mile range I think) here's their website http://www.directed.com Good luck.

and afterwords even with the billet handles i'd sugest 'jimmy jammers' weather you buy them or make them yourself. they make it harder for ppl to jam a screwdriver below the cylinder between the sheetmetal and the handle and move the door lock rod.

I'd go with four rear door handles and eliminate the front key holes and front handle lock linkage altogether. Get your self a good alarm along with a remote entry and you won't be using those keyholes anyway. I think they are there just for thieves! (Seems like years since I've used a key to get into a vehicle)
