Installing a second tank under the chassis is a major project. Nobody makes a kit for it, so you have to fabricate all your own mounts and connections. Most folks don't bother, and instead install the bigger single replacement fuel tank from TransferFlow: Ford pickup replacement tanks

And if that 47 gallons is not enough, then your next step is to install a tank in the bed. A popular choice is a combo fuel tank/tool box. You'll find those on the TransferFlow website too: Toolbox and fuel tank combos

Here's how I did mine, it's an in-bed tank with an aux fuel water separator filter to feed the OEM tank directly via a 3/8" ball valve and gravity feed - and despite what the transfer flow kool aid drinkers tell you, it's fully DOT approved.

It's nice going on a +6000 mile trip knowing that I only have to fill up 5 times at four stations (twice at Amarillo).

Good luck.

Al

I installed a 40 gal aerotank that takes the place of the spare tire and relocated it in the box. Other than that your options are the transferflow or there's another company out there with a 60 gal plastic replacement tanks.
