I've been looking at different kits for a little louder sound, and looking at the pics all they do is give you a piece of straight pipe to eliminate the muffler. Is this correct or am i missing something? yes i understand you get the other stuff but the only thing different is no muffler.

That's about it with a DPF back kit. Basically it just looks better than stock at the tailpipe....

Thats what i thought, Is it louder and how much? Does it set off any codes?

I think I remember in the DVD if you mod the tips it could void warranty. Might want to look into that.

It wasn't any louder, no mileage increase, and no noticeable power increase. At least with the Banks Kit....

They are larger diameter, eliminate the muffler, and get rid of the dual tip look. HP gains and sound improvement are minimal as the real restrictions in the exhaust are not touched.

MagnaFlow makes a filter back exhaust that comes with a muffler or muffler delete pipe. You need to be sure whatever you buy has the vented tip, I guess these puppies get pretty darn hot otherwise!
