External Tranny filter installed
I decided to install an external tranny filter since mine didn't have one and I didn't want to drop the pan every time I flushed my tranny. I had 42k on the tranny/engine and had my Ford dealer flush my tranny fluid with their Ford flushing machine. After the flush, I had my mechanic add the external Summit Racing tranny filter. The kit from Summit cost $35 and was easy to install. I only had to increase the size of the 90's as the one's from the kit were smaller than the hose size to/from the tranny cooler. Not only is the new external filter easy to service, but also adds to the cooling effect due to the placement. Pictures below.
