lift kit?

Gents, I want to raise my 08 F350 3-4 inches. Does anyone have any suggestions as to manufacturer and what type? Also, does it efect the ride much? Thanks, gotta go throw my patio furniture in the pool before FAY does.

I have the 4.5" CST suspension lift from Icon on my '08 F250 and love it!!!! I put 22" rims and 35" tall tires. The only problem I have found with it is a shutter at 5 to 15 mph. havent figured it out yet but i think its where the drive shafts meet up (brain fart... cant think of the name of that joint)... i think i just need to shim that up to correct the prob.
Overkill... you have delt with this system a lot any ideas of what can fix this problem

What you are feeling is driveline shutter. Add 1"-1.25" of shims to your carrier bearing and that should resolve the issue.

Thanks for the good info. Did you install yourself or did you have to take it somewhere?

I did not install myself I had a local shop install it. However it was the first time they had done this system. They told me it took two guys between 2 to 4 hrs to complete and that installation was simple. They were also very pleased with the people at CST when they called to learn about this system. I hope this helps you decide

Effect on Towing?

My 350 is mostly a tow vehicle. It's the main reason I bought it. What does lifting do to towing ability or efficiency? I don't really like how low the truck sits but then it ain't a 4x4 and it is a duelly.

When a truck is lifted, the frontal area is increased, which increases drag. Also, when a truck is lifted, larger rims and/or tires are added, which increases rolling resistance. These reduce the efficiency of your towing machine.

The higher you lift and the larger the wheels, the less efficient your truck will be for towing.

I installed 2 1/2 " leveling kit on front $100.00 and firestone air bags on rear $260.00, 35" tires no problem 37" will probably fit. did it myself in the driveway 2008 f350 4door drw w/2" wheelspacers

Thank you. I suspected as much.
