I agree...for me I wouldn't be safe driving around with that much block stacked together...
Do you have axle wrap on take off?
Other than that nice looking truck....

That is scariest rear block situation I've ever seen. Sounds like your old truck wasn't setup correctly the first time. I'm surprised that the kit didn't come with rear springs or was that an option? I've got all springs on the rear of my truck and it's been like this for 50K now and no axle wrap. Maybe my ladder bars made all the differnce, or was just built by someone who only does Super Duties. Truck looks good, don't get me wrong, but, I'm just nervous for you with that rear setup. What did you use for axle pins? Are you worried about snapping them?

no, i have no worries about snapping them. I dont drive like a complete [censored], and the truck does not, and has not expierenced any wrap. When i can find some leaves for the truck, then maybe i will put them in. But for you guys freaking out on the blocks, look at most any lifted chevy, they all have blocks back there.

To clear up the whole shock mounting thing, Bilstien shocks can be mounted in ANY possition due to the design. They may have them set up to mount shaft up in some configurations and shaft down in others for clearance or looks purposes.

Some of you guys need to get out more if you think that block situation is scary. My last truck had 90k miles with roughly the same set up and it's goes offroad and never had a problem. I now have 10K miles on my '08 with the same rear set up and no issues. Yes springs in the rear would be nice but if you drive like a human then there is no problem running blocks like that.

You've got to be kidding me. Stacked rear blocks? Spend 40K+ on a truck, then stack multiple blocks to lift it? WOW!
Just because lots of people do it doesnt make it a good idea. Lots of people are significantly intellectually challenged. To make quite the understatement, that's a really bad idea; and while we're discussing bad ideas, I can only hope those U bolts havent been tightened, hence the big gap between them and the axle tube.
Absolutely amazing what some people will do, regardless of the safety of themselves and others on the road...just out of curiosity, do you plan on going with a flatbed after you spit those blocks out and the tires destroy that one? Bradford makes some really nice eds, but I dont think they'd warranty anything if you mounted the bed with bungee straps...

Wow. </div></div>
Well the truck was 46K. And no, the ubolts weren't tight, my wife was standing behind me taking the pics. Traction bars are on order.
teh blocks are stacked because.... the instructions, from skyjacker say to stack them, as stacked.

Don't let the flack about stacking blocks rain on your parade. I too have seen many blocks stacked in the rear but if you can avoid it that's the better way to go. Aside from sticking a complete new set of rear leaf packs in (best scenerio but pricey), your situation is easily corrected by installing an add a leaf and removing your factory 2" block. This will allow you to keep your stance and only have the 4" block supplied from Skyjacker.
I will be lifting my 08 dually once it arrives with a 6" kit and wondered if the pitman arm was included with yours? The Skyjacker kit I was looking at did not include it. I have never heard of a 6" kit not including this.
Take Care,
Lane

My last truck was a 99 F250, 8" BDS ALL SPRING lift... rode like absolute ass. I beat on it pretty good and never had any problems. My current ride is an 00 F350 with 6" block lift. Fortunately I have a broken leaf spring, so I'll be shopping for a new set of full springs to get rid of the blocks. It is my understanding that axle wrap caused that spring to break... if not... I don't know what. I do know I hate the look of blocks on the axle... but the ride is 100x better than the F250 was. The 6" in this truck is Skyjacker, not sure if that is why the truck rides better or if it is the fact that there isn't 8" of spring in the back.
Nice looking truck. And no, I'm not going to bust on you about the blocks.
That said, out of curiosity, should you have stacked the blocks in the opposite manner so that the bumpstop would hit the factory block with the wing? That is what it's for and you just put it 4' out of reach.
