Need a little help with Recon L.E.D. turn signals in an 2008 SD

I just got a early x-mass present. RECON L.E.D. Smoked mirror lenses for my 2008 SuperDuty. My question is how do I remove the O.E.M. units? The lights did not come with directions. Any help would be great. I leave for AZ tomorrow and want to look cool getting there. Sorry for posting twice. Posted in the wrong forum the first time.

I am not sure on the 08s. But the earlier ones you have to remove the mirror back. (Moving the glass around and there are tabs inside to pop loose. (FRAGILE TOO,, IIRC)
Good luck,

Contact Mike of DMB Performance

powerstrokin05 on this site.

I have an 04 and he did all my lights with RECON.

You may not be in our area but he's starting a new business and I'm sure he would be more than happy to help if he can.

Fireman, did you figure out the install method yet. I have the same lights in my garage waiting installation.

It sooooo easy... In between the mirror you will see an opening...
Gently push with a flat head screw driver and they will come out...

Its honestly that easy...

Not anything like the earlier mirrors..

Steponz is correct. I installed mine today and I adjusted the mirror glass all the way in towards the truck. I then inserted a long skinny flathead screwdriver in between the glass and housing to push out the factory light.

I did mine today. When you rotate the glass in you will see a shinny clip behind the mirror along the outboard side. Push on it with a small screw driver or pick and the light pops out. The bulb sockets come out of the light with a quarter turn. The bulbs pull straight out of the sockets. The Recon lights use the OEM light sockets as a female connector. Just match the paired wire colors and plug your Recons in. Because the light sockets are now just hanging in the breeze it's a tight fit getting the new wires/lights back in. You have to find a place to tuck the connections out of the way. Try your turn signals before you snap them back in the mirror in case you have a bad connection (usually just a plug that didn't seat well)
