Outfitting the F-450 with some temporary accessories
I found out today that my utility body will not be here until Jan 11th, so I got to work on some stuff. First off, I started laying out the compartments.
I started doing the layout and equipment selection for the F-450. Since I have nothing better to do, I am using Visio to do it.
After finding out that the body will take so long, I picked up some fenders for the rear axle. I also bought the mounting brackets, but quickly figured out I would have to drill my frame to mount them. I can't handle that, so I rigged up some electrical parts and made my own temp mounts. I ended mounting the fenders gangsta style. This is just the mockup photo, but they are done, but I couldn't get finished pics, I had a meeting to go to. Finished pics to come tomorrow.
Tomorrow I am picking up some lights for the fenders to make them visible at night, to avoid any problems.
Tonight I rigged up some LED ICC lights, to comply with the local laws, maybe federal laws, not sure, but I did it. I put 3/4" button LED's on the outermost portion of the fenders, and ran all the wiring inside the conduit brackets, and also installed a 3 light ICC strip on the back.
Also, my OEM center console came today, so I can replace the center 20 of the 40/20/40 split bench. That is a bigger job than I expected, but well worth the effort. Pics of that later as it happens.
Body hit the dirt yesterday afternoon, so I had to scope it out today. The interior of all the compartments is powdercoated white, hence the overspray on the outside. They better prep the crap out of this thing, there is a lot to do.
Also got all my Thule items in, an awning for both sides, conduit carrier, ladder roller, ladder holddowns, and 4 bars of ladder racks, even though I am only using three (only sold in pairs).
How are things coming along? Any more progress photos??
