Painting stainless steel

I think I know the answer to this already but ... I bought inserts for the cold winters we get here but all I could find was stainless steel. I've made every effort to keep all my add-ons black. Anyone know if its possible to paint the inserts?

I'd have them powder coated. That would work well.

Not a bad idea. I'll see if I can find someone local.

I wonder how it'll hold up to rocks.
