After spending time looking at HIDs and Projector recommendations here, I decided to install a set of projectors on my 2008 King Ranch.

Like other posters, I was not crazy about the stock headlights with the turn signal on top and the headlight on the bottom. Same thing with the tallights. Really did not like the stock reverse lights on the top.

I installed a set of Spec-D Tuning's headlights and Recon's clear LED taillights. The halo rings and the eyebrows on these headlights are not very bright but the projectors throw quite a beam. I did look at a set of projectors that used CCFL halos that were considerably brighter but they used the stock headlight-on-bottom form factor that I did not like in the first place.

What do you think?

Looks good, different, kinda like T4 "rise of the machines"...
hey when it's dark can ya shine the projectors against a wall so we can see the overall visible light cutoff and post the results? Thanks for the pics.

I have heard that the led tail lights do not pull the same amount of power and need different fuse relays. Does anyone know whether or not you have to alter any of the relays or fuses in order to use the led tail lights?

Replacing, for instance, your incandescent (brake)/turn-signal Lamps with LED Lamps will cause a fast turn-signal flash rate which mimics, say, a single blown brake/TS Lamp. This Jeep website explains the concept where replacing your non-LED Flasher Relay with an LED F/R is *supposed to* allow your now-installed (brake)/turn-signal LED's flash at a normal(or slower) rate instead of a hi-speed "blown-brake/turn signal" rate.

Aggies12

No... you do not have to replace the fuse or any relays. While the LEDs do pull less amperage than an incandescent bulb, the LED light do not cause the turn signals to blink slower or faster whatsoever.

Super Duty Projectors

I had found these, they are also available in Black as well and you can order either with an HID option when ordering.

These are the ones I ordered only in Black. They are available from several vendors in the $260.00 range per pair on Ebay. They are made by Eagle Eye. They contain an H7 Low beam and H1 High beam which will get a lot more light on the road.

All the new lights look sweet...and it would be great....

if y'all would post some pics of the output of these lights against a wall to show the beam pattern(s). A good projector/reflector will have a nice, well defined cut-off of light with no BLINDING light scatter...oncoming vehicles won't have to flash their hi-lights.

I will post as soon as they come in and I get the HID's installed in them.

I bought a set of the Eagle Eye lights on eBay. I sent them back. I didn't like the electrical connections as they were almost impossible to disconnect once connected.

Oh - and they didn't fit into the truck either. The tabs didn't line up with the holes in the truck.
