Quick Question - Plow Lights, Switch, and TSB 07-09-01

I have read the issue with Plow lights on the 08 trucks. I have an 08 Job 1 w/o Plow package.

Having a Western plow installed today, no aux light switch, it has an auto switch.

1) I tend to put the plow on the truck and leave it for the entire season. As long as I turn the headlight switch OFF when I plug in the plow in the Fall, I am good -to-go for the next 6 months? I can use the AUTO function, I can turn them on and off manually every day, I won't have a problem, etc??

2) If I screw up and accidentally plug the plow in WITH the lights on, I've used up 1/200 attempts at shorting the system, and simply turning the switch off and back ON again will restore lighting, right??

I guess my GENERAL question is whether or not I can turn the headlights on/off 200 times with the plow on the truck before it fries, or whether I can SHORT it by plugging in the plow with the lights on 200 times before I fry it.

Ford dealer is an hour away and very inconvenient to get the re-flash done in the near future, that's why I'm asking))

Thanks, Ben

I'll start off by saying 'No, I haven't searched any information on this', but I don't get what you are saying here.

Might you be able to provide what the issue is and thus the concern...

I would think that if you connected your plow and wiring, and then used the headlights as normal, that there wouldn't be any issue.

I personally have never heard of anything like this.
