Recommended 6-inch lift

Hey all,

Need a recomendation on these companies for a 6 inch lift:

Pro-Comp
RCD
Superlift
BDS

These are the ones I am looking at for my budget on my 2008 Ford Crew Cab Short box. Pro-Comp is offering 20% off parts plus free install through 31 July. Most people tell me to stay away from Pro-Comp though.

Just looking for durability and one with a good ride. My buddy tells me most these I have listed above are pretty comparable. I also like Rize but they are on the pricey side. I also like ICON but they don't have a 6 inch and I don't want a 7-inch.

My truck is my daily driver, but where I hunt and camp is tough 4x4 country in the Rockies.

FYI just because a company says its a 6" lift ..could be higher or lower. Icon would be the best for ride quality but all will get the job done. Good shocks make a huge difference....order your kit without shocks and get Bilsteins.

I have a 6" Pro Comp lift on my 2003 6.0 and love it. The truck drives straight and rides awesome. Pro comp makes a good lift and with that discount I would strongly consider going with them.

Fabtech makes a really good affordable lift. My buddy has owned a reputable off-road shop and has built tons of jeeps and ground up rock crawlers over the past 12 or so years. He highly recommends Fabtech for durability, geometry, customer service, and warranty. I'm getting the 6" radius arm drop installed with Bilsteins for $2,200 today. I'm with you, I actually have to use my bed on a regular basis so 6" was the max height I wanted to go.

The Icon, RCD and BDS systems will offer you the best ride quality and lifetime warranties. The 6" RCD is a 4-link system which is a big plus, however it is a bit more expensive. You could also opt for a Icon 4.5" and add their 1" TEI spacers and 6" rear blocks (this combination will comparable in height to most 6" systems). Here are some of the systems we offer: 2008 F250/F350 SRW 4wd - Truck Toyz Store

Let me know if you have any questions.

no offense to cary and overkill, but if he is talking budget, a 4 link is probably out of it.
I will offer some real world expierence. I have the pro comp, with the pro comp arms. I did however opt for bilstien shocks. The kit came with brake lines, arms, front coils, rear add a leafs and blocks, trac bar bracket, pitman arm and carrier bearing shim. It easily clears my 37's. It rides as well as stock if not better. It tows awesome(i just took a trailer, where me and the truck weighed in at 17K), it didnt squat, sway or anything else. The fit was great, the directions easy to follow. I highly recommend this kit, especially for the money.

What I and Overkill recommend ..the Icon kit doesn't require a 4 link kit which could be added later if he desired.

X2 for the Rize kit also.

It really depends on how much dependability you need with a suspension lift...It sounds like you will be stressing the suspension components and actually taking advantage of the lift when hunting off-road...If you can at all swing it, I would go with the 4-link system...you won't regret it! More durability and stability off-road...I would go with anyone BUT Pro Comp...The suspension on these trucks is of second importance only to the power-train, don't go cheap 40-50K miles down the road you will be glad you went with a better system.

Keep researching. That is a position clearly occupied by One Up Offroad.
