Shorter Radio Antenna?

My 2008 KR radio antenna keeps whacking the beams and lights in my company parking garage.

Right now my solution is to remove the radio antenna....

Can anyone recommend or have experience an antenna brand that I can replace with? I don't want to put a cheap 12' whip, but something that is metal and just a bit shorter than stock...

Can't answer your questions, but I had the same issue with our 2001 and our garage. I took the little ball at the end of the antenna off and cut the antenna to the length I wanted. I then reattached the little ball and repainted the antenna with a flat black paint (vice grip marks). I have to repaint about every other year or so. David

I was actually going to suggest cutting it down and reattaching the ball. Or finding a shorter one at an auto parts store that will work with the Ford connector.

Boss walked in before I could finish typing though.

i always thought the antenna was a good height gauge...i was in the boston airport parking garage and if it wasn't for the antenna i would have lost my clearance lights. needless to say my antenna doesn't have the ball on it anymore.
