I have a Leer Cap that fits except the door won't shut because of the larger plastic top protector now on 08's. I'd like to fit an aftermarket protector or Ford one from 99-07 if possible. Can this be done?

I ordered a TailGate Guard from Napa. It will be from an 07. I'll let you know if it fits ok..

It won't fit. I took the 08 guard off and the tailgate has a shape like the guard itself.
