2010 Super Duty Build and Price

Just for kicks I logged onto FordVehicles.com and did a build and price for an 2010 year model Super Duty. I built an F-350 Lariat CC LWB 4x4 with all the bells and whistles, much like the 2008 I'm in now, and the price only came out to be around $44,000. Could this be right? I noticed that there was no price increase for a diesel motor anymore nor auto tranny. Most of the options I picked too there were no price increases. Am I doing something wrong? My 2008 sticker was around $52,300. $44,000 for an '10 with more options than my '08???

I don't think the website is working right yet.

Here's the one I use:
Ford Build & Price - 2010 Ford F-250 SD

I can build a 2010 6.4L F-250 XLT longbed 4x2 with automagic tranny, but with no packages, interior options or exterior options. So the MSRP is $44,415 (or 47,655 with 4x4). But after you add the pkgs and options, the price will probably jump up there in the 50k realm.

I can build "your truck" except F-250 Lariat 4x4 longbed limited slip diesel and automagic tranny and get to $50,320 with just those drivetrain options. But still no packages, or interior options or exterior options or accessories.

Doesn't it seem funny that the difference in price between an XLT and a Lariat is now $7540? That's about what the diesel and diesel auto tranny option cost on my '08. There's no way they make that standard equipment on a Lariat. And I don't understand why they'd allow you to build and price an 2010 Super Duty without fully pricing the options on there too. Something is not right.

You would have flunked out of my business school.

If you compare apples to apples, the difference is only $3,405 MSRP.

That's for an F-350 SRW CrewCab, longbed, with 6.4L, automagic tranny, limited slip, 4x2. With no other options, the Lariat MSRP is $40,045 and the XLT is $36,640.

I didn't go in and make the pickup configurations the same. I assumed the base price was comparing the same style of pickups. Actually if you go in and compare "apples to apples", XLT vs Lariat, I came up with a base price difference of $4600 on an F-350 4x4 CC LWB SRW.
