I am a week away from purchasing an F250 CC 4x4 diesel, I have two choices:
1) 2008 with about 1000 dollars of equipment I dont need and no SYNC or power seat. It was built on 3/08. MSRP is 47,600 and the dealer will sell to me for for invoice - 8k rebates.
2) 2009 ordered exactly the way I want it by close friend/dealer. He will give me a 0 profit deal and have it shipped to a local dealer in my area.
Can you please tell me if the second option 2) will be able to come close in $$ value to the first one. I sense that it has to be about 5k below invoice to make it worth option 1). I understand that there will be only 3.5k in rebates on the 2009 but I can get the sync, ppwer seat and not have the 1k in stuff I dont need.
I think you have answered your own question. In option 2, you say that it will be "exactly the way I want", believe me, in 6 weeks the extra money you spend on it will not matter because you will have NO regrets. If you get the one that is not "exactly the way I want", then it will not take long for you to tell yourself that you really wanted the Sync or whatever else, by the way the Sync is COOL.
If he is indeed selling it to you for a $0 profit deal ( keep in mind there will be shipping costs and if it a courtesy trade then the selling dealer charges the originating dealer a fee, typically not that much, maybe a few hundred dollars or so), then look at as if you are just spending the extra money on the pwr seat and the Sync.
Remember, the 2008 is already in the "value books" ,NADA, Kelley Blue Book, and such.
Thanks for the advice, regrettably the 08 does not have power seats. I have heard really good things about the aftermarket handsfree units. Have also heard that the 09 has a regen upgrade that gives better mileage.

Some weired Microsoft for linking phones to the car and such. Check out here.

Did you see the part in the manual, where if you see a "blue Screen" to stop, disconnect all batteries for 5 minutes. Reconnect, and reboot.
Actually I have Sync in the other Ford product. Voice recognition for options, GPS, Radio, etc... in addition connection cellphone w/bluetooth..
Works OK
