I am thinking about ordering a new rig, but want to coincide the delivery with the mileage the company wants to trade. Is it still taking about 12 weeks for 6.4L Lariat Crew Cabs? The dealer says I'd better expect about 12 weeks right now. Does that sound about right?
When supply exceeds demand, then the normal order and ship time is about 6 to 7 weeks, maybe 8 weeks if you're out in the sticks far from the nearest railhead.
But when demand exceeds supply, you have to "get in bed" with your dealerperson to be sure the dealership:
has unused allocation to order that truck, so that Ford can schedule your order for immediate production.
puts an order priority on your order that will assure your truck is first in line for orders from that dealership.
Most dealerpersons won't tell you the truth about allocation in times when demand exceeds supply. So be certain you use a dealerperson you can trust to tell you the truth.
As part of your deal, be sure the dealerperson assigns order priority 10 to your order, and includes order code C09 in the order. The C09 is for a priced dealer order receipt acknowledgment (DORA). Be sure the dealer agrees to give you a copy of the priced DORA within one workday after the dealer processes the order to Ford.
With that done, you can normally expect delivery within 8 weeks. However there are things outside the control of the dealership that can slow down your order, including a commodity restriction on some component you ordered. Strikes by some labor union at the assembly plant, rail company, trucking company, etc. Dually trucks can be slow to get hauled from the railhead to the dealership because only one can be loaded on each car hauler trailer.
To assure the fastest possible delivery, order your truck from Bobby Williams and have him "drop ship" the new truck to a dealer near you. Bobby has lots of allocation, and knows how to get you the truck delivered to you as close to your need date as possible. Bobby also keeps you advised as to exactly what is going on with your order, including the latest estimated delivery date. Sunrise Ford Fleet, 16005 Valley Blvd, Fontana, Ca, 92335

Ordered an F-350 SWB King Ranch on January 4, 2008 and the dealer in Colorado called yesterday February 6, 2008 and said it was "IN". I assumed it was at the railhead in Denver - no, it was drop shipped to the dealer in rural Colorado, dealer prepped and ready to go in just four weeks.

Where's the pictures? Something sounds hokey with your order. I sit a gasser?
Just got it to the ranch this morning, No pics yet. Build sheet says ordered Jan. 4th, assembled at KTP on Jan. 22, and was delivered to the dealer on Wed. Feb. 6th. Just joined the site this morning also. I really didn't plan on the truck until at least mid to late March. As Walter Cronkite says: "And that's the way it is".

Thanks for the Info the stealership i am going to place an order with tryed telling me it would be 16 wks Thank for the Info.
Not sure about the rest of the country, but we are seeing order to deliveries in less than 8 weeks on Super Duties. I think most dealers have refused allocation due to the slowing economy and not wanting high dollar inventory setting on the lot, but Sunrise Ford takes every one we can get a hold of. I guess that's why are numbers are where they are in terms of Super Duty sales in the U.S.
If you feel that your local dealer can not come through for you give me a call or eMail and we can discuss the options available.
