job numbers

I didn't find this answer with a search, so what determines the "job numbers" for a given model. What drives the number of them and the duration of each.

I can imagine that it might be the production run but in the case of f250's I would have assumed that they were always in production.

Cshurley, you are right. Most years have two jobs. One starting in Summer the other in Winter. Job 2 is better most of the times as they sort out minor bugs. In some years there are just 1 or even 3 jobs. The 08 have 3 whereas the 06 is only one job as far as I remember. So if you have time go for a job 2.

The difference in Job Number is a major difference in the truck in some way. In past years, it was only for the change in emissions tuning or hardware near the end of the calendar year. For 2008 you can read it yourself.

From about July until the Christmas/New Year holiday break in 2007, we were under Job 2 of the 2008 model year. From the beginning of production of the 2008 models in January 2007 until the July 4th summer break in 2007, the trucks were all Job 1 trucks.
