Last Day to Order 2010?

With all the rumors of the 2010 MY being a short one, does anyone know when the last day to order one will be? I'm wanting to order a white platinum KR here in the near future. I want to know if I need to jump on it sooner than I'm thinking.

If they are going to have any 2011 available at dealers in early January, then they'll need to begin production in early November, or maybe even earlier. So the last day to order a 2010 would have to be set back to some time in September or October. So to get what you want before they "balance out" components available for 2010, I would plan on ordering not later than about mid-August.

First of all I just want to clarify that there has been no word of Ford moving SD production to Mexico for the 2011 model year, only the diesel engine assembly. 2011's should continue to be assembled at KTP...

As for the last day to order a 2010, well it is way too early to even guess. The only thing I can say at this time is the current last day of production for the 2010 model year is 02/12/10, but that is subject to change...

If they don't stop producing 2010s until the middle of February, then it will be April before dealers have more than one or two 2011s for sale, and it will be next summer before they have much choice in inventory.

I didn't expect a for sure answer to this, but I figured I should ask anyway. Thanks for an idea on the logic they might use to determine when to cut them off and the balancing out. I will try to place my order as soon as I can.

Anyone know if 09 production is finished? I expect it is, and they're waiting for inventory numbers to reach a certain level before taking '10 orders.

If the new diesel requires a front end change, the switch to 2011MY will be interesting. I hope there are not major changes beyond a new engine. I looking for a more MPG oriented than torque oriented diesel.

If they take 11MY orders in november, 10MY is going to be one short year.

2010 is short for sure. It is still debated here if it will be November or early next year.

You took out the "if"

They're not going to go a day longer than they have to with the 6.4 . My interest isn't in the model year, but the engine. IF they're going to be delivering the new engine at the beginning of Jan. they're going to have to take orders before that date.

We're kinda assuming the new diesel requires a changed front end. I hope it doesn't. I hope they put it in the current truck.
