Makes sense.
Ford is running the Kentucky Truck Plant (KTP) at half throttle right now, and they plan to shut down completely for the entire month of July. International has already built enough engines to finish out the reduced truck production until the end of the 2008 model year in late June. Then if International cranks up the engine plant in the middle of July, they'll have plenty of 2009 engines waiting for the truck assembly plant to open in early August.
What does this topic have to do with " '08-Up Ordering Information"?
The folks who order the very first of the '09 model year production will not receive them until about two weeks later than we first estimated. Because now Ford plans to close the assembly plant for the usual summer break between model years for about a month instead of the normal two weeks. So the plant will open in early August instead of the middle of July. So Joe Average Customer will first see his new 2009 Superduty PSD in the middle of August instead of early August.
