No more 3.73 for 2010 F350 6.4L SRW CC?

Tell me it ain't so! I just fought the build tool on ford's website and was forced to choose DRW everytime to get 3.73 since 3.55 have become standard. Are 3.73s still an option for PSD SRW like 2009?

3.55s are now standard. You will be fine with them unless you plan on overloading your truck. Remember you have 350hp now. I may actually put a 3.55 or 3.31 in my 2000 model of the 3.73 wears out.

I think 3.55 were also standard on 6.4L SRW in 2009, but there still was an option in 2009 for 3.73. Virtually every 2009 4x4 CC LB SRW I have seen on dealer lots was ordered with the 3.73 LS for towing. Why nix this option when ordering a 2010? I just don't get it.

That's what ours came with.

I was at my dealer doing some maintenance on my truck and looked at all of his '09 6.4's and they were all 3.55 rears. It must be all for getting the mileage up, I guess, cause I think the 3.73 is the perfect rear for a turbo diesel. Just like I think the 4.10 is the perfect rear for a gasser, 1/2 ton to 1 ton, unless you tow heavy, then lower.

The axle availability chart in the Order Guide shows 3.55 as standard on almost all 2010 PSDs with SRW. And the only option is limited slip - not a different ratio. There some of the 4x2 or regular cab trucks with lesser trim levels that have 3.31 axle standard, but you can up them to 3.55 by ordering a suspension pkg such as the camper pkg.

But the 3.73 ratio is available only on F-350 DRWs.
