Ordering and incentives

I am looking at ordering a 2008 FX4 CC LWB in either March or April. I talked to the nearest dealer and they were trying to say that when I ordered, I could get whatever incentives were going on at the time of order or at the time of delivery. I'm not sure of this. Can someone with experience tell me how it went for them?

Also, I am getting the truck with the 6-speed manual. If anyone has or knows where there are some pictures of the inside of a cab with the stick shift, that would be great! It seems like it is hard to find pictures of the 40 20 40 bench seat let alone one with a stick!

Thanks!

hey mtmike, I ordered mine on Jan 12 08, and should receive it the week of the 19th. The day i ordered i signed the agreement that had the 2500 incentive in the price of the truck, regardless if it exists or not at time of delivery or if the incentive is better at delivery i can choose that. So it is about the same they told you. I'll try to get back to this post and let you know how it goes.

Ford will honor the incentives available on the day of delivery. If a dealerperson promises you something else, then get it in writing, because that dealer is going to have to take it out of his own hide if incentives go down while the truck is on order.

Unless Ford changed the rules very recently, of course.

Hey Mike, I came across the follow picture of a cab with manual trans. I believe this is a XL, so I don't know how much it helps with your comparison to an FX4:

The '09 order bank opens in April, if you can wait.

Thats great news FINE, but whats going to be on the 09 thats not the 08s?

Why wait for higher prices and less incentives vs picking up an '08 Job 3?

Thanks for the link to the picture, that was what I was looking for! I am going to try and get into a job 3 2008 before they stop building them so that I can get some good incentives (fingers crossed!) I'm going to the dealer this week sometime to hopefully get some things nailed down.

Rumor is there will be a 6 speed Auto, and hopefully updated programming for better fuel mileage.

Does anyone know about the brand loyalty or whatever it is where if you trade in your current ford and buy a new one and get more incentives? Is it just for trading in a f250 for an f250 or does it work for a f150 to an f250. I'm going into town tomorrow, so I want some good things to ask the dealer about. I live 70 miles from town, so its not like I can just run down an have a chat.

thanks

I was told that it needs to be a 98 or up superduty. I just sold my 96 F-350 PSD and it didn't qualify.

Looks like there may be some truth to the dealer being able to lock in the price at the time of order. The question is are SD's eligible...

Last update to the rumor that I have is the 6R140 will not be seen before the 2010 model year and more than likely will never make it behind the 6.4L.

Maybe I'm a little slow or my reading comprehension sucks, but what exactly does that mean?? Does it mean if I place an order today for a $45k truck my payments with 0% for 5 years would be $750/month. Now with this plan/incentive that PowerStrokeHD is talking about my dealer can lock in my payment of $750 but the interest rate could change, meaning the loan length/terms would change????

The next question is how do we get our dealers to understand this? I guess if this is really the case I could just order from Bobby Williams and not worry about dealing with a local dealer.....wonder what he knows about this????

The key phase here is "Select Dealer" Order Protection Program (PGM #32484). This program has been around for years. It's sole purpose is to protect the smaller dealers that have very little allocation and order to delivery exceeded 12-16 weeks were other dealers were receiving orders in 6-8 weeks. I have not looked into this program lately, but doubt anythng has changed. It's been a while since I spoke to Ford regarding this program, but a year or so ago there were less than a 100 dealers on the list out of 3,500+ dealers nationwide
