A plan discount

Hi, I have a couple of questions…

My area Ford dealers are currently offering A plan pricing to the general public. Using Ford of Canada’s “built and price” this results in about 12% off base price and 14% off options. (old ’09 F350 XLT 4x4 pricing)

In case I’m unable to see the dealer invoice, does this discount seem correct?

If I have a factory order drop shipped to an up fitter the up fitter will do the PDI. Is the PDI part of the Destination Fee? If so how does the up fitter scenario affect the dealers billing?

btw Ford is also offering $7,000 delivery allowance on this model, $44k base (down from $10,000 last month) are you folks Stateside still seeing these kind of incentives or has the tide turned?

Thanks,
David

Hi!

Cannot help you much but the 12-14 % seem about right for A-Plan. So you can built and price your rig and subtract these percents.

Being the curious guy that I am I went of Ford.ca and "built and priced" the truck I bought at the beginning of June and Ford's Employee Pricing turned out to still be ~$5500 more than what I paid...

OK Jason, now I'm curious...I'm looking at Employee Pricing + $7,000 Delivery Incentive (DI) say ~ $12,500 off list. Does your comparison include the DI ?

I wonder if I should I be asking better then A Plan?

Will see my dealer Saturday. Don't know if 2010 MY order bank in open yet.

Thanks,
David

It looks like either my fat fingers or fat head made a mistake, it should have read $2500 less and yes that takes into account the $7000 DI. I would be looking for another 4-5% off of the ford.ca build and price pricing.

Thanks Jason. Good to know.

I'd better plan on going to a few dealers to get the best price.
