Tonight we ordered our new truck. 2009 F350 FX4 crew cab LB with auto trans and manual transfer case and hubs. This is our new horse hauler. I've learned enough about the trucks now and I'm feeling confident about it. I'm a little bummed about the fuel mileage threads though. Oh well. Should see it around March I guess. We're not in a rush anyway though.
We're keeping our 95PSD as well.

Good thing you're not in a hurry. With the plant closed for about a month for winter break, the "normal" 6 to 8 weeks to build and deliver a new truck becomes 10 to 12 weeks right now. So yeah, you're looking at March.
But that gives you plenty if time to worry about whether you should have ordered the widget instead of the gizmo on your truck.

Hey Wren I think we got is all sorted. We've been researching since last February and the only question mark is whether we can get the box extender thing with the DRW.
I'm guessing that this will be a job 2 truck already as well.

Your dealerperson can find out in about a minute. He can go into the vehicle ordering system and do a "change order" to your order number, and try to add order code 85B. If the computer accepts the change without forcing you back to SRW, you're good to go.
(85B is the order code for the bed extender in an SRW pickup.)
My order guide says no, but I don't know of any reason why. If worse comes to worst, your dealer can probably get one out of parts and put it in your truck. The only difference is it probably costs a lot more that way.

Not to be negative about your choice, but did you consider the alternatives?
You have a lot of Ford history, but not with emissions laden vehicles.

May I asked what you expect to pay? I am in the market for a V10 and obviously need to place a custom order. Still I get no clue on the incentive pages at Ford. I just cannot see the 10k off like GM has. Can anybody halp me here? Thanks.
I did the X-plan plus incentives and god $9k off at the time I bought my V-10. Listed for $42k and paid $33k. Mine was loaded with almost everthing. I could send you a copy of the sticker if you want.

Hi guys, for what we do a gasser is out of the question. This is a work truck not for the occasional towing job it will be put to work constantly. The salesman called today and said the wide track front axle is only available with 4.10 gears has anyone heard of that before? Also is the factory spray on bedliner available yet?

I wouldn't go with the factory spray liner. The initial run produced a bunch of failures that delayed a lot of trucks from shipping. They stopped offering it for a while. It's not ready for prime time.

Picked it up a couple of days ago. 2 months and 28 days for delivery right on schedule.
It's a big beast. Been running it up and down the mountains to start the break-in.
LOVE the rapid heat. Our old one wouldn't blow warm air in less than 10 minutes. This one has warm air in less than 90 seconds. Really important here because the humidity from the ocean is so high that your windows stay fogged on the inside and it's not safe to drive away.
