question on ordering 2010 f-350 psd

so i put a deposit to order, but i was just now able to get an x plan pin.

will this present a problem when it comes time for pickup? i did not sign anything other than the cc slip for the deposit.

should i mention that i now have an x plan pin or wait until delivery in 5 to 6 weeks?

Get with your dealerperson immediately and tell him you now have the X-Plan pin and want change the order to an X-Plan deal. He should process a "change order" transaction to indicate an X-Plan order.

However, it is not required that a dealer sell you a vehicle under X-Plan. If he gives you any static about changing the order to an X-Plan order, then cancel the order and find another dealer to order it from. But the first words out of your mouth should be "will you accept an X-Plan deal for a new Superduty pickup?" 99 percent of the time the answer will be "yes". But it's the dealer's option, not yours.

If you have a trade-in, don't be surprized if the numbers all change on an X-Plan deal.

Unless your dealerperson knew you were in the process of obtaining an X-Plan PIN, you broke the rules by obtaining your X-Plan PIN after you had discussed prices with your dealerperson. So don't be too hardheaded if your dealerperson doesn't want to cooperate. The person who gave you the PIN could get in trouble with Ford.

thanks for the info.

i wasn't aware that i could get on any ford plan pricing, so i dont feel i mislead the dealer. they are giving me a fair price on my trade in, so i will have to see if it balances out number wise.

dealer quoted me 57 on the truck i ordered (2010 srw psd cc lariat with all options that you can select from fords web site except for rear dvd player...it works out to 60 using the web config tool).

they will give me 23 for my trade with 81k miles (my trade is valued at 21 according to various appraisal sites).

after taxes/dmv fees i expect to cut a check for about 61/62.

is it worth it to pursue x-plan then?

considering the truck i ordered, is x-plan pricing that much better?

Maybe, maybe not. Only your dealer can answer that.

Ford gives the dealer about $500 rebate if the dealer sells the truck under X-Plan. So if your dealerperson didn't fudge the numbers on your deal, they should be willing to give you about that much back on your deal with the PIN. But the trade-in complicates the deal. If they gave you an overallowance for the tradein, they may not want to give you that much overallowance under an X-Plan deal.

So just have your dealerperson refigure the entire deal to be an X-Plan deal and see how much the bottom line changes.

according to my salesperson, it isn't an issue and he will change the order to an x-plan deal.

i will need to call him tomorrow with the pin and he can change the order for me as well as get me the new price.
