Suspension choices

So, I am ordering a '10 F250 Crewcab Longbed with the V-10. If I get the snow plow package or camper package will the truck sit taller? I want to get the tallest stock truck I can get, since I don't plan to lift this one.....I guess.
I know there is another suspension package but it rides much worse. I can't remember the package name. Anyway, any info would be appreciated. Hopefully placing my order Wednesday!

There are three optional suspension packages. All result in a slight increase in the front springs weight capacity.

The snow plow prep pkg (473) will stiffen the front springs enough to handle the added weight of a 750-pound snowplow. I don't know about the current models, but way back when it was enough to raise the front end about an inch.

The heavy service suspension pkg will increase the front springs weight capacity one notch, or about 400 pounds @ground. That's about a half-inch lift. Zero change for the rear suspension. It's intended to handle the extra weight of a Ranch Hand front end replacement, or competitive brands of heavy-duty "deer armor" front bumper and grill guard hardware.

On an F-250, only the camper pkg will also raise the rear end a half-inch or so - the thinkness of one leaf spring - because of the addition of supplemental rear springs (so-called overload springs). The front springs on the camper pkg are identical to the heavy service front springs, i.e., one notch up from stock.

One way to raise the truck a bit more is to order 20" tires and wheels. Those puppies are really close to the old 35s in diameter. But with 20" wheels, you cannot order the camper pkg or heavy service suspension pkg. The order guide doesn't say, but you may be able to order the snow plow prep pkg with 20" tires. Ask your dealer if you want the combo that will result in the max lift from the factory = 20" tires and the snow plow prep pkg.

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately the 20" rims are not available in 2010 with the V-10......only the Powerstroke. I had originally wanted the 20's with the 34" tires. Talk about hoops to jump through. I'm looking at the 18 page order guide.....I really wanted leather in an XLT, with rubber floor.....yeah....rubber floor is fleet only, leather requires the Driver's convenience package.....etc. etc. Thinking maybe an XL with vinyl and just add the stuff I want later! LOL!
