Hello All,
As mentioned above I'm unexpectedly in the market for a new truck. I managed to totaled my '03 last Friday. So I'm back on the old faithful TDS forums. I'm not sure what I'm looking for yet. My 03 PSD was $37K but I just priced out the same truck to about 50K on the Ford Build and Price website. A little too pricey for me this time! I haven't really been paying attention to all the tv ads but I hear a lot about employee pricing. Is this the A-Plan price? When I bought the old truck the X-Plan was the way to go. Is this still true?
Thanks
Jim
Sorry to hear about your truck, I had the same thing happen with my 02' in January. The employee pricing that Ford was offering was just a tad off what the actual employee pricing was. True employee price was a little better. If you can find an 08' you can get some killer deals on them but they are getting scarce. I think with the 09' just hitting the lots it will be a while before they give big incentives on them. Good hunting!

My father is in the market for a new truck, albeit an F150, and the dealer he's talking to here in Alabama just offered him $250 over invoice, which is only $336 over X-Plan, and an additional $4k in bonus cash on top of that. I saw the official Ford invoice to confirm. If you can't find an X-Plan PIN, there are deals to be had out there.

Yes. Ford offered it for a while in the wintertime on leftover 2008s, and they sold like hotcakes. But you probably won't find a 2008 that will fit your wants and needs.

From most dealers on a new 2009, yes. Some dealers will sell you a new 2009 at invoice after three hours of haggling. I prefer to spend that three hours finding a Ford employee and getting an X-Plan PIN.
Instead of using the Ford retail website to build your truck, use the X-Plan site below. Then you will have a better idea of the actual price you're going to pay. You can also use that website to search dealer inventory for a truck ready to go, and see X-Plan price and window sticker for that truck. Where it asks for zip code, put in the zip code of a big dealer instead of your own zip.

My Sierra Blanca in the sig pic was a great pickup for 11.5 years. I sold it last year. Replacement is a 2012 F-150 EcoBoost SuperCrew Lariat.

Smokey - I clicked on your link, and it looks like Ford's retail website rather than the X-plan website?
They are very similar. Look again.
The build part is the same, but after you build it then they send you to the "search dealer lot" part. There you look at similar trucks in inventory. If you're looking at F-250s, then "view seatch results" will show you the F-250s in stock, and the X-Plan price of each one. If you click on a truck, then a popup will show you "pricing info" of MSRP and the X-Plan price, with a couple of buttons for looking at the window sticker and vehicle details (major options on the truck). Click the vehicle details button first to be sure it's what you're looking for, then click the window sticker to exactly which options it has.
For example, my itty bitty local dealer has an F-250 King Ranch with MSRP of $59,694 and X-Plan price of $53,816. Nice pickup.
