what's a good price?

Looking at a 2008 f-250 6.4 diesel, lariat, 4x4, srw, x2 alt, nav/audiophile, sunroon (basically all the bells and whistles). MSRP is $54,460. What is a good price range for buying this?

Thanks

Local dealer has one with a sticker of $54,500. Buying price is $43,483.
then scroll down to near the bottom of page 3 and look for the one with the $43,483 buying price.

Ended up getting it for $41,960. Spent a total of three hours from driving onto lot, to driving down the road.

Thanks jonrjen. The wife is absolutely thrilled with her new truck. Wonder if it's time for a new E-350 for me, .

The deals are out there aren't they! Nothing wrong with two new ones. Just bought the wife a leftover 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the Hemi and my new SD is on the way. Got a great deal on the Jeep like you did on your wife's truck. $13k off MSRP.

Please help me. I just don't get it with the prices. You currently get the employees discount and the 1000 bucks. Is that from MSRP or invoice?

I priced a 2009 F250 @ 57.5k. From MSRP it would be 49k; coming from invoice it would be 45k. What's correct? Thanks alot.

Jim

I think you get employee's pricing, 2 or 3 % below actual invoice, a $5500 incentive of some sort, and another incentive for using Ford financing. I'm not a mathematician and haven't had any coffee so ....

In the end, I think we saved $12499.00 off the msrp.

Nothing about rebates or incentives is figured from invoice. The invoice contains three totals you might need to determine how good of a deal the incentives are. It contains the total invoice price, the X-Plan price, and the A-Plan price. The A-Plan price is the "employee's" discounted price.

I don't think you'll find both employee pricing and a big rebate on the same vehicle. You will find smaller rebates combined with employee pricing, such as the financing rebate of $500 if you get Ford financing. For example, today in my zip code on a 2008 F-150 SuperCrew Ford offers
$5500 Retail Customer Cash
AND
$500 Ford Credit Retail Bonus
AND
$500 Military Appreciation
but no mention of employee pricing.

The Ford incentives website doesn't include the SuperDuty this week, for some reason.
