X-plan and incentives?

I was just informed by my dealer that a vehicle bought with x-plan pricing is not eligible for the $1000 commercial upfitters rebate. This rebate is for upfits made to the truck of more than $1200 on non factory available accessories - like for a platform body installed on a F-350 cab and chassis. Does anyone know if this legit?

Thank you for your help.

Joe M.

The rules are spelled in two of the sticky posts at the top of this forum. Including:

"Ineligible Products

* Certain commercial use ..."

I suspect that the commercial rebate is not one of the eligible rebates under the X-Plan rules. If you qualify for the commercial rebate, then that makes your truck "certain commercial use". But as the rules state, only your dealer knows for sure.

When you say "dealer", do you mean the dealer, or a dealership employee? I would talk to either the fleet manager or the new truck manager or the dealer himself before I'd believe anything a salesman says. But my rememberance is that commercial vehicles are not eligible to be purchased under the X-Plan.

Most dealers will sell you the truck for a coupla hundred more than the X-Plan price - after some hard-headed negotiation. So if you took that deal and then got the commercial rebate, that would be better than X-Plan price and no commercial rebate. The main difference is that negotiation is required if you don't have an X-Plan PIN.
