I added an Airaid intake system and Diablosport programmer and I get 10-11 around town and 13-14 highway, solo. Lots of power and much cheaper upkeep than a diesel. Also a 4.10 and automatic Supercab 4X4 shortbed.

Mine gets about 10 mpg around town and 12 on the highway; it still is under 2,000 miles though and I'm hoping it will improve a little by this summer.

Mine only has 1300 miles on it so far. I am getting about 8-9 in town. I have taken two 400 mile round trips. One with a small 12' utility trailer around 2500 pounds. On that trip I was running 60-80 miles an hour with some hills. I got 9.5 mpg down and 10.5 back. Then the same trip with no trailer and a little slower (had the co-pilot with me) I got 11.6 down and back, and that included me still playing with the truck a little. I generally do not light foot the throttle. I can't bring myself to drive slow or accelerate slowly just to save a little fuel. I figure there is more at the gas station just begging to be put in the tank!
Hope this helps,
Jerry

C/C auto with 6.75' bed 4x4 with 4.30 rear gears

8 city and 13 hwy.

City is worse than average because I live in WV (i.e. all mountain driving) and I've had the hubs locked in since it started snowing. I travel to Ohio often and get around 10 city there, driving much lighter footed.

I'm not a light footed driver either.

My thought behind the V10 was that the $8000 the diesel engine costs can buy a lot of gas. Additionally I can tow more than any single axle diesel can because of my gearing (important for the horse trailer)

Err... EDIT: I can pull more with my V10 4.30 gearing than the same style truck diesel.
