I have the Diablosport Predator and like it alot. I have it set on the medium program that uses 91 octane. Runs real good for me at that setting. I also have a K&N dropin air filter. I got my Predator from these giys:

Pappy, I checked the link for the diablo sport and didn't see anything for the newer V10. Which one do you have?
I'm thinking about tuning my truck. Leaning towards the SCT x3 due to input from another site. Still undecided though because I don't want to do anything that might damage my engine. Is anyone aware of major issues with the V10 related to programmers?

Pappy,
Got a question for ya. I know that the V-10 motor doesn't wake up until she gets a few thousand miles on her. For some reason I am thinking mine was around 5K or so. Of course my truck is an 06. Then one day I jumped in and she just became a new beast with an abundance of life out of no where. I had read on line that this day would come, had some doubt as to the truth, but it sure gave me a BSEG that stayed for a long time.
Anyway the question is, for new owners of the V-10. Would you recommend waiting for the truck to wake up before installing a program to the truck. Or, would you say go ahead and do it.

Huh?? I got mine from those guys bout a year ago. They said the 2007 version would work on my 2008. BS, it ran like crap no matter what setting I tried. Called up Diablo and they told me to hold on for a month or so and they would have the update for the 2008 V-10. Sure enough I got an email that it was ready and I downloaded it to my programmer; I think it was in Feburary. I've been running it ever since. I chose the mid-performance level which is supposed to be at the 91 octane rating. Runs flat good, both solo and towing heavy. I haven't touched it since Feburary.
I'd call those dudes at the web site and see if they just haven't changed their ads cause I know they have the right programmer for us V-10'ers. The Diablosport is a good one IMHO.

I waited for 3 months or 6,000 miles before installing my Diablosport Predator. I did the mid-performance level program(after they got the 2008 V-10 program right) and haven't touched it. I now have 28k on the odometer and it runs like a scalded dog. It's always a crap shoot for some dudes, but I have confidence that most of the major programmers wouldn't hang their butt out for someone that spends $50k for a rig. I have really enjoyed this V-10 with the Predator program. I also added the Air Raid intake system. That's it; for a total of $600, my rig kicks most new diesel butts, even hopped. Stock diesels are no problem, no matter what species, I eat um. They look at my little puny exhaust pipe and can't believe I'm so hot! Just an ole white haired grandpa out for a spin. No smoke, just eat my clean, green exhaust.
