There you have it...."with my mods", says it all. And, after reaching the top of the mountain, you'd have to wait 10 minutes for your egt's to drop or bye-bye turbo. Maybe your older V-10 wasn't what you needed, but the new ones are hard to beat.

The V10 was a GREAT motor with absolutely terrible mileage towing or empty. Towing in the passes of Washington, there is no comparison stock for stock. Stop filling this guy full of your wishful banter. My V10 would be SCREAMING to maintain 35 up the pass where as my diesel would hum along at 50 without being mashed to the floor.
Now with my mods, I would bury you in a soot cloud with my trailer in tow...
He clearly said it would just be even less of a comparison with his mods....Whatever guy, you love your v-10 and thats great. They still dont compare.

You 6-leaker dudes must really be getting tired of your engine hassles on the diesel threads to come down here to the gasser thread where the only issue is whether or not your 6-leaker will hold together after your warranty runs out. When I see a Ford SD on the side of the road, 9 out of 10 are 6-leakers. How about NO TSB's for this V-10 in the past 4 years!! No reflash, no nothing related to the engine. You can have all that modded up power but I'll take my lowly old V-10 and it's reliability any time.

Thats meaningless, as almost 9 out of every 10 superdutys sold were sold with diesels. Last post in this thread.

I am no expert on the V10, but if I had to buy a new truck today, it would be a V10. The 6.0, and the 6.4 are expensive problem children. My 7.3 moded does a great job, but the new trucks with all the troublesome emissions, and another 7 grand or so in additional cost upfront is not in my future. I don't think Pappy is spreading any bs. Pappy sure has been happy with his V10, and that is saying something, after coming out of a moded 7.3.
